A short tour

Sticker-bombed door with Tiger Dust logo

If the door is stickered top to bottom and there's a tiger in the middle, you're in the right place. 4222 N Florida Ave, Suite B, Tampa. Open almost every day, noonish to 7. Push firmly — the latch sticks.

Wide interior with turkey mount and brass details

Once inside: green walls, gold frames, brass everything, taxidermy at eye level. The framed sign on the table by the door says Trade Marcellus the Magic Turkey a Secret for a Free Button. He's the gold-leafed turkey at the back of the shop. He's a good listener.

Chalkboard: DRAW US A PICTURE, Menu $100

The chalkboard near the door is the menu. The menu is doodles. Doodles are $100, payable in joy. Add yours.

Sand zen garden with ceramic kittens and a tiny crab

A little raked-sand tray near the front. The rake is real. The cats are thrift-store ceramic. The crab arrived in a box of unrelated jewelry. Customers smooth it on their way out. We rake it back. This goes on.

Two glass-shaded sconce lamps with crystal drops

The lights are mostly working antiques. Most of them are also for sale. If a lamp catches your eye and the price tag is missing, ask — we'll find it.

A wunderkammer in Seminole Heights, Tampa — the shop that kept the weird ones.

New arrivals, event nights, the occasional rambling essay. No spam — we barely check email ourselves.
